If you are an active PC user, and especially if you are a music lover, video and/or photo collections, chances are that you have accumulated an important amount of duplicate files on your hard disk. This may cause serious problems to your system, such as slowness and disk fragmentation. AusLogics Duplicate File Finder helps you detect and get rid of those duplicate files, recovering valuable disk space.
The program offers a simple and intuitive user interface that behaves like a wizard, so that it can be easily used even by inexpert users. First of all, the program asks you to select the type of duplicate files to look for. You can select one or more of the following categories: images, audio files, video files, archives, and applications, or simply let the program look for all types of files. Then you can optionally set the minimum and maximum sizes of the files to be analyzed, to speed up the duplicates search process.
In the next step, you can tell the program whether to take into account the file names and the creation/modification dates when looking for duplicates. Finally, you can select the destiny of the duplicates found, which may be the Windows' recycle bin, the program's rescue center or a direct and permanent file deletion. There is also a special panel that allows you to select the drives and/or folders where you want the program to look for duplicates.
